A native of Orange County, Kristen Rodriguez attended University of California, Los Angeles, graduating in 2006 Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. As part of the Psychology Honors program, Rodriguez completed and presented research at the UCLA Psychology Undergraduate Research Conference, regarding the impact that parenting styles have on the intimate relationships that young adults have with friends and significant others.
Following her undergraduate studies, Rodriguez attended University of Southern California Gould School of Law, graduating in 2011. While at USC, Rodriguez externed at both the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Central District of California, and the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. Following law school, she was one of twenty selected applicants to participate in the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office Trial Advocacy Training Program, where she completed a month-long trial advocacy program and thereafter prosecuted one DUI trial and two bench trials to guilty verdicts.
In March 2017, Rodriguez obtained a jury verdict in the Central District of California for a national salon chain in a breach of contract and trademark infringement matter. In April 2016, Rodriguez and MLG Automotive Law’s Senior Associate Todd Ratay won a verdict for their client against a global hotel chain in a consumer law case with potentially far-reaching implications for the hotel industry in across the United States. The case resulted in in injunctive relief and an attorneys’ fee award of over $400,000.
